The first day of the British Superkart Grand Prix weekend ends with Division 1 driver Lee Harpham taking pole position in Heat 1 after a sensational race around Donington Park. Harpham clocked the fastest time of the session, recording a lap of 1:29.034 and travelling at 100.57mph, gaining a lead of 8.863 seconds.

Paul Platt conquers in the 250 National series once again, after managing to stay ahead of Division 1 driver Tom Rushforth. Similarly in the 450 National, Kevin Ridley claimed pole position in his class with 250 National driver Louis Wall and Division 1 driver Martin Marks just behind to split him away from his closest competitor Nicholas Kirk. As for the 125 Open drivers, it was Mark Bramhall in his Anderson kart who led the pack after securing a position amongst the other classes to race across the line as the victor.

Lee Harpham will start at the front of the grid in Heat 2 tomorrow at 12:10pm. Will he claim pole position for the final race, or can the other drivers challenge Harpham for the top spot?
