The drivers of the British Superkart Championship continued to show great performance in the Qualifying session at Anglesey Circuit. Although a red flag caused a brief pausing of the drivers’ time on track, they went full throttle to secure their place on the grid for the first race this weekend.

Liam Morley continued to lead the Division 1 group in Qualifying and placing himself in pole position for today’s race, recording a lap 0.6 of a second faster than in Free Practice.

In the F450 group it is the same story, with Mark Gellatly posting the fastest time and positioning himself at the head of this group in 12th on the grid.

Paul Platt managed to snatch the top spot in the F250s, improving from Free Practice where Lee Plain headed the group.

Paul Platt, F250: “It’s my first race in this season and feeling positive about the weekend so far. I managed to get a two second lead ahead of the group, although experience a bit of oversteer at times. But overall, feeling positive about the race.”

Finally, in the F125s Tom Riley once again recorded the leading time, but it is close competition between him and Michael Parr who is a split second behind.

Tom Riley, F125: “Qualifying went really well, the performance was there and managed to record a good time. I’ve got two 125s right behind me on the grid, so I’m sure it’s going to be an interesting start to the race.”

Ahead of the first race of this round in the British Superkart Championships, we spoke to Ami Jerter ahead of her first race in this championship:

Ami Jerter, F250: “I’m hopeful for the first race and making sure we have developed the kart to perform on track. Anglesey Circuit is such a stunning track and I’m looking forward to seeing how I will perform in a race situation.”

Racing starts at 4:35pm, where we expect to witness some exciting and close racing from the groups. Live streaming is available on the BRSSC YouTube channel here:
